Tommie Copper: Compression Core Band and Compression Short Sleeve Crew Neck Shirt Review

You probably noticed by now that I’m a big fan of compression gears. Compression garment is not new in today’s age, there are so many choices to choose from depending on your needs and activities. Compression garments are not only for athletes, these are also for regular Joe (and Jane) who needs help in aiding their recovery. Some use compression garments to support their muscles (or just part of their body) as they perform their day to day work. The compression garments are also ideal for people who have labor intensive jobs.

Tommie Copper was founded in 2010 by Tom Kallish with the simple goal of helping people live healthier, happier, more fulfilling lives. Tommie Copper is one of the many companies that specializes in compression. They have different compression garments to choose from, whatever your need is, chances are Tommie Copper has it. I have reviewed many of their gears in the past and you can read it by clicking the items below:

Fit and Functionality
Recovery Compression Core Band: Let me begin by saying that I don’t have any medical problems with my back (or minor back pain) that would limit my mobility. So now that it’s out of the way, let’s begin. I’ve been using the compression core band since it arrived last week and I’m very pleased with how it feels and support my lower back. The construction of the core band has some thickness in it but it has a good thermal regulating technology, the COOL COPPER, making it ideal to be worn all day even on hot days. The fit is true to size so there’s no need to second guess whether you have to go down or up a size. It has an even compression throughout but not too restrictive. It still allows my waist to bend naturally and it doesn’t constrict my breathing.

My training consists of running and cycling. I’ve been logging long miles again on my bike since I’m not yet training for a marathon. Being on the saddle for a long period of time sometimes take a toll on my lower back and this compression core band helps me recover faster, reduce the muscle fatigue, and improves the blood circulation on my back. The core band is comfortable enough that I wouldn’t mind wearing this all day even when going to bed. I normally put on some Max Freeze on my lower back then slide the compression core band. This helps sustain the pain relieving heat of Max Freeze longer and I can definitely feel the difference the next morning, no longer have to deal with a stiff back.

Compression Short Sleeve Crew Neck Shirt: The compression shirt is one of my favorite gears to wear especially after running. The ultra-light material feels like a second skin and it gives a comfortable hug throughout my upper body. I liked to describe it as “comfortably tight”…if that makes sense. It’s a fair assumption that some might think that wearing a compression shirt will give you that “wrap like a burrito” feel, where you will be restricted on movements, definitely not the case here. It has unlimited range of stretch (in any directions) that lets my shoulders, arms, and back to move freely and still gives me the support that it intends to do. Similar to every compression gears, the benefit of using one is for faster recovery, minimize the muscle fatigue / soreness and lessen muscle inflammation.

My Verdict
Training every single day is important to me, it’s all about “train, recover, repeat”. The recovery is literally the bridge between train and repeat…recovery is important as training and gears like these are something we can take advantage so we can perform and live better.

Overall, I’m impressed with these gears I tested. Both showed the same benefits of helping me recover faster and minimize any muscle soreness from the constant trainings. Having fresh sets of muscles everyday with the help of these gears are vital to what I love doing. You can purchase these gears directly on their website, the compression core band sells for $39.50 and the compression short sleeve crew neck shirt sells for $49.50.

Give them a try and let me know what you think. I love to hear feedbacks so feel free to post below.
